End of Season Picnic Clarification

I’ve had a number of questions regarding Carnival conflicts with our End of Season Picnic. I’ve spoken with Park & Rec and what we worked out is Little League has all of Devitt A to do field games, picnic, etc as we have done in the past. However, we cannot use the pavillion. A band will be there and other tents will be off to the side of the Pavillion. We have full access to Devitt A. We are renting a tent, and pulling the grill into Devitt A. All games against Coaches (kick ball, wiffle ball, etc.) will be played as normal on Devitt A.

Park & Rec liked this idea for the picnic as it would put more kids down at Devitt for the carnival. If anyone has any additional ideas, or fun things to do for the picnic – please bring them to the picnic!

Because there will be a mixed crowd at Devitt, I would ask that all Little Leaguers please where at least your game jersey and or hat to the field so we can ensure anyone on Devitt A is with Little League or accompanying a Little League player.

Thanks.

End of Season Picnic

Please join us for our End of Season Pot Luck Picnic on Saturday, June 18th from 4 to 6pm at the Devitt Snack Shack. The Deep River Little League would like to host parents, friends and players for our annual celebration of another outstanding Little League season.

Deep River Little League will supply all the hot dogs and hamburgers. We’re asking the parents of our players to supply any “Pot Luck” dish you can bring. You are required to bring “drinks”. Places to sit are rare! Please bring your own chairs. The Snack Shack will be open for the purchase of drinks, candy, chips, etc. but we cannot give away the Snack Shack supply this season as Deep River will be the host of the Minor League CDEW Championship Game.

We also need a Grill Master for the Picnic! Please see us at the Snack Shack if you’d like to help at the Grill!

Deep River Little League Coaches will receive TROPHIES for their players at the Picnic. Players should locate their Coach to receive their trophy. EQUIPMENT RETURN: Coaches are required to return all equipment at the Snack Shack.

Parents vs Players game will be on Devitt A starts at 5pm! Please be reminded the Park & Rec Carnival will be on the B field.

FALL BALL REGISTRATION information will be made available at the Snack Shack. Anyone interested please grab a flyer or registration forms at the picnic!

If you have any questions, please email me president@deepriverll.com.

I look forward to seeing everyone at Devitt!

Fall Ball 2011

Fall baseball registration for players aged 7-11 as of April 30, 2011 will run from June 1 through July 15, 2011. Fall baseball is a developmental league, and a great opportunity to transition from farm to minors, or minors to majors.

Registration forms are available by Clicking Here.

The cost is $65 per child. Please fill out the registration form, medical release form, and payment and mail to:

Deep River Little League
PO Box 172
Deep River, CT 06417

Of course, volunteers are always welcome to coach or umpire. Please fill out the volunteer form!

Fall baseball plays double headers on Saturday afternoons in September through mid October with other teams in District 9. Major’s games are typically 9 & 11:00 and minor games are 1:30 & 3:30.

Deep River Little League Fall Ball registrations will be received on a first-come, first-served basis. All post-marked envelopes are saved with the registration. There is limited space for 1 Major’s team and 1 Minor’s team.

League age is based on April 30, 2011. Therefore your player’s age on April 30, 2011 creates his eligibility. If you’re league age 12, you are required to move up to Junior Fall Ball. Junior Fall Ball information will be released once I have been notified who is running Junior Fall Ball.

Any questions please contact Paul Aresta at arestap@att.net

Memorial Day Parade

For all teams interested in marching in the Memorial Day Parade on May 30th, please be at the Congregational Church on Church Street at 830am in full Little League uniform to organize each team in their respective groups. The actual parade steps off at 9am from Devitt Field marching through town and to the town Cemetery for the Memorial Day Ceremonies.

I would like to see a good showing from Little League. Especially from our two Majors teams – I’d like to have the Major’s teams carry the Little League banner for the march.

Any questions – please email me at president@deepriverll.com.

Thanks.

Deep River Day at the Rock Cats

Please be reminded that we still have Rock Cats tickets available for sale ($10) at the Snack Shack. Deep River Little League day at the New Britain Rock Cats will be held on May 14th followed by the Rock Cats game against the Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox Affiliate – boo!) There are some slight changes to their schedule – please read below:

“Due to a rain out the Rock Cats have scheduled a single admission double header for Saturday, May 14th against the Portland Sea Dogs. There will be 2 seven inning games, with the first game starting at 5:35 PM, gates opening at 4:35 PM. The second game will start approximately twenty-five minutes after the first game ends. Your tickets are good for both games.

ALL pre-game activities will now take place before the beginning of the FIRST game. All Dugout Team participants and other pre-game participants need to report to the top of Sections 103/104 (behind the Rock Cats dugout) at 4:45 PM. I hope this provides you with enough time to spread the word to everyone.”

Double-A & T-Ball / Plant Sale

On the individual Division pages to the right and at the top of the website, I’ve posted the schedules for Double-A and T-Ball. We’re trying also to add these games to the “Calendar” section as well.

Plant Sale forms can still be turned in for those who have not yet. Our Plant Sale fundraiser orders were down dramatically this year – if you still have interest in submitting an order please turn them in at the snack shack for the remainder of this week, or hand them to your coaches.

Also, 7% OFF Coupons to the Ivory Restaurant are available at the Snack Shack. The Ivory will pay Little League 7% of your bill when the coupon is presented at your table.

Lastly, Deep River Little League logo gear is still available for sale in the Snack Shack. Lots of inventory left.

All these things are fundraising efforts for Little League.

Thanks for your support!

Thanks.
